There was a pretty big update from GCG the other day. Garden City Group is the claims administrator handling the Full Tilt Poker money. Poker players may be finally getting their money back after the “Black Friday” debacle. People have been waiting for what feels like forever to get back money that was in their poker accounts which was seized by the DOJ. The news is out- They stated on their website, FullTiltPokerClaims.com, that Full Tilt Players will get emails with more info this coming September.
As stated from the site:
Important Update About the Start of the Claims Process
Starting on September 16, 2013, GCG will email a Notice with instructions on how to submit a Petition for Remission online to all potentially eligible claimants identified by GCG utilizing data supplied by Full Tilt Poker (“FTP”). The deadline to submit a Petition for Remission is November 15, 2013. Instructions concerning the filing of Petitions will be included in the Notice and will be posted on this website. Please continue to check this website for updates. Please note that the registration process for email notification is no longer available.
Whether or not players will get all their money back is still a question. It doesn’t clearly state whether or not people will get everything they are owed. However, it does seem like everyone should get back what was in their accounts before FTP closed down. This is not a certainty, but it does seem like it will happen.
They state: “It has been determined that the calculation formula to be used for the Petition for Remission process will be based on players’ final balances with FTP as of April 15, 2011 (the “FTP Account Balances”)”
It’s important to note the small time frame window that you have to make a claim with them. They will start emailing people September 16th, and the deadline to submit your claim in November 15, 2013. No procrastinating! If you have some money on there then you better be on the ball looking out for that email and sending in your info as they request it.
How do you get your money out of your Full Tilt Poker account?
Don’t just sit around waiting for an email. If you know you are owed money then you need to be proactive and send them a notice. The information that you need to claim your funds will be provided on their site. They say, “If you do not receive an email notice and you believe you are eligible to participate in the remission process, you may file a claim online using the directions that will be provided on this website.”
I wish the best of luck to all of the Full Tilt Poker players trying to get their funds back. I know it’s been a difficult thing to deal with, and I can only hope that the process will be smooth and easy for everyone.
Be sure to keep an eye out in your inbox, and be sure to check your spam folders too. Also, get in the habit of checking the official claims site at FullTiltPokerClaims.com
It might be a smart idea to go ahead and contact GCG if you have any questions. Either way, you should be ready to make your claim come September 16th. I would get all my questions answered now so you know what to do when the time comes.
